Special Note:

Quake will publish one full-length paperback title per month. We are seeking authors with strong character development, good plotting, and strong technical skills, with the ability to engage young readers on an emotional level. The willingness and ability to market and promote to a young audience is crucial in the publication process.

Quake publishes three lengths of works:

• Single Title (Word Count 40,000 – 90,000) Print and eBook

• Novella (Word Count 10,000 – 40,000) eBook only

• Short Story (Word count 2,500 - 10,000) eBook only

Each manuscript submission e-mail must include the following items:

• File #1 - Cover Letter (file name: last name-title-cover) i.e. jones-HappyTrails-cover.doc - the cover letter should be in a professional format.

• File #2 - Submission (file name: last name-title-sub) i.e. jones-HappyTrails-sub.doc - submissions should adhere to our standard manuscript format.

• File #3 - Marketing Strategy (file name: last name-title-sub) i.e. jones-HappyTrails-mark.doc - marketing strategies should be an outline of potential events, advertising, and promotional venues for a full year.

Standard Manuscript format:

·  File saved in Word format (.doc) or (.rtf)

·  8 ½ x 11 sheet

·  Times New Roman 12pt font/black ink

·  1-inch margin on all sides/ 1.5 line spacing

·  Align text left, do not justify (aligning text both left and right)

·  Header containing title, author name and page number

·  Capital letters at the beginning of sentences and proper nouns

·  Show new paragraphs by indenting first line at .03.  Do not add blank line between paragraphs

·  Show scene breaks with * * * * centered in the appropriate line

All cover letters must include:

·  Name (and pseudonym if applicable)

·  Mailing address

·  Phone number

·  E-mail address (required)

·  Web address (required)

Response to full manuscript submissions may be three to five months, unless otherwise specified.

Submissions that do not strictly adhere to these guidelines WILL NOT BE considered.
